“Control is really just anxiety. We control something because we want to make sure the bad doesn’t happen. Freedom is letting go of control.” ~ Shawn Mendes
Anxiety is a symptom of perceiving the world and our place in it as something they are not, which is a consequence of being disconnected from nature and reality. When we see things as they actually are rather than as our culture and evolution has programmed us to, justification for anxiety dissolves.
You will never die because you were never born, the universe only changes form. Meaning is created internally, not received externally. Life is not serious, but you can be sincere. All is connected, division is nothing more than a concept. When you hate another, you hate yourself. When you love another, you love yourself.
“A person who thinks all the time has nothing to think about except thoughts. So he loses touch with reality, and lives in a world of illusions.” ~ Alan Watts
“Hurt people hurt people.” ~ Justin Bieber
Perceiving life as hard is entirely a choice, regardless of how technical or demanding your responsibilities are.
A creek trickles peacefully, and a waterfall crashes powerfully, but both flow naturally and effortlessly. Regardless of whether our life resembles a creek or a waterfall at any given time it is our choice to sink like a rock, or float like a leaf.
Once you know a few humans you just about know them all. There’s no need to treat each new person in your life as though they are complete strangers.
As a butterfly cannot properly develop without struggling to escape its cocoon, nor do people grow without being challenged and facing adversity. Challenges evolve us both biologically and psychologically.
